Sorrel is an award winning adventurer, author, television reporter, photographer and artist with a passion for both natural & social history. She is a Fellow of the NY Explorers Club, Churchill Fellow and former Chair of the Australian Geographic Society.

She is best known in Australia for her role on Getaway, and the documentary series she made for Australian Geographic, The Best of Australia.

Sorrel has also directed and written dozens of natural history and social history  documentaries for Wildbear Entertainment and PBS. She has written and illustrated many books inspired by her travels - for adult readers and children - and her photographs and travelogues have appeared in magazines all over the world, including National Geographic.
